The city of Bath is a UNESCO World Heritage City and this social programme has been designed to enable you to visit and experience some of the most beautiful parts of the city.

Sunday 19th June 6pm

All delegates are invited to a drinks reception at the Victoria Art Gallery from 6pm-7pm on Sunday 19th June. Centrally located near Bath Abbey and the Guildhall, this building was named to celebrate Queen Victoria's sixty years on the throne. It houses a fine collection of paintings, sculpture, glasswear and decorative arts, including works by Gainsborough, Sickert, Nash and Klee. During the conference the gallery will be holding its summer exhibition.

Monday 20th June 6pm

On Monday evening a sightseeing tour of Bath has been arranged. Guests will be collected from the University and taken on a relaxing journey to explore some of Bath’s iconic sites, including the Royal Crescent, Assembly Rooms, Roman Baths, Bath Abbey and Pulteney Bridge, as well as some of its hidden gems. The tour will finish in the city near to all conference hotels.

Tuesday 21st June 7pm

The conference Gala dinner will take place at the world famous Roman Baths and Pump Room, with music by the renowned Pump Room Trio. The Roman Baths is one of the premier visitor attractions in the world, attracting approximately one million tourists each year.

The event will commence with drinks on the Great Terrace where guests may soak up the unique atmosphere and enjoy the special view of the steaming waters below. Dinner will take place in the Pump Room. Once the focal point of Georgian society, this breathtaking room retains much of the character as it was when first built; the unique spa water still flows from the fountain overlooking the natural hot spring and a crystal chandelier still sparkles from the centre of the room. The grand Pump Room was opened by the Duchess of York in 1795 and Jane Austen observed people and fashions from within the room.
